Professional Experience

Sharon has 28 years of experience in tertiary education, combining senior strategic leadership with practical expertise in wellbeing, inclusion, safeguarding and learner success.

Sharon Jones has worked at executive and system level, leading complex multidisciplinary services, shaping whole-organisation strategy and advising senior leaders, boards and national programmes. Her experience spans higher and further education, NHS and public-sector partnerships, providing an understanding of both the strategic environment and the realities of translating ambition into effective practice.

A distinctive strength of WISTE is the ability to connect areas that can too easily operate in isolation. Sharon has developed whole-organisation wellbeing approaches, strengthened safeguarding governance, led inclusive service development and created structures that bring together strategy, policy, people, data and accountability. This has included embedding wellbeing alongside existing institutional governance and aligning safeguarding policy and practice with wider wellbeing strategy.
